Health
At Profectus Minds International School we strive to maintain and enhance the intellectual, psychological, and physical well being of all of our students. Our School Nurse contributes to these goals by providing health services to the school community, health promotion activities both in and out of the classroom, a point of contact for parents who have concerns about their children, and referrals for outside medical care.
Please make sure your child’s medical information in our school files is up to date. If your child has any medical conditions, allergies, significant past medical history, or takes medications on a regular basis it is important that we have this information available in our confidential school records. It is also important to periodically check your child’s immunization records to make sure they are current and complete.
If your child is taking medication that needs to be administered during school hours, whether it be ongoing or only a brief course, please complete the Medication Release Form on the right side of this page and bring it to my office along with the medication so it can be dispensed safely as per school policy.
We look forward to working with you as we continue to ensure a happy, healthy environment for our students and the entire PMIS community.
Wellbeing
At Profectus Minds International School (PMIS), we are committed to supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of our pupils and staff. We know that everyone experiences life challenges that can make us vulnerable and at times, anyone may need additional emotional support. We take the view that positive mental health is everybody’s business and that we all have a role to play.
Our wellbeing policy is:
- Child-centered: The wellbeing needs and the best interests of our children are a central focus of this policy. This requires us to respect and value the voice of children and young people and foster their belonging and connectedness to our school community.
- Fair and inclusive: All children receive fair and inclusive opportunities to develop their wellbeing in ways that are responsive and suitable to their particular needs and contexts. Practices are tailored and relevant, building on the existing strengths of children, school staff, families and school communities.
- Evidence-informed: Our policy promotes the use of evidence-informed practice, which brings together local experience and expertise with the best available evidence from research.
- Outcomes focused: This policy promotes continuous improvement practices and the use of data relating to outcomes to guide practice in our school in relation to the promotion of wellbeing for all children.
- Partnership/Collaboration: The wellbeing of our children is a shared responsibility. Working in partnership with parents, guardians, school staff and external agencies is key to ensuring this policy is implemented.
